hello, this is chun, young-woo, a tv reporter of mbc in seoul, korea. Our team is planning to make an tv program on the korean adoptees in abroad and korea.

we would like to show koreans the lives of korean adoptees in abroad and korea
as they are. so we want to meet the korean adoptees as many as possible. our program is to be on air on the 6th of january, 2006.

discussions which topic we should take, and came to an conclusion that we have
to deal with this adoption problem. we ask you to help us.

korea have sent 150,000 adoptees to abroad at least. and 2,300~2,400 adoptees are being sent to foreing countries every year. we think it is time to discuss on this adoption issue in serious. we want to meet various categories of korean adoptees.

Mer informasjon:

the purpose of our program on the adoption problem is to throw questions to the
koreans:
'do you know the situation of domestic and overseas adoption in korea? do you
know what the lives of adoptees are like? if adoptees, their adoptive parents,
and their families think that there are problems in korean adoption system, what
should we do?"

we think there are possibilities that we cannot come to an conclusion on the
adoption issue. but we firmly believe that koreans have to think of the korean
adoption system in serious now.

we have come to an conclusion that the best way for to think of the adoption
issue is to show the lives of domestic and overseas korean adoptees as they are,
and to deliver the interview of the adoptees and their families.

some adoptees say that they are satisfied with their lives. but others say
that korea sold them to foreign countries and the government did nothing for
them. so we are trying to get in touch with as many korean adoptees as possible.
because there are a lot of variables in korean adoptees: age, gender, education,
country, profession, marriage, and so on.

we shall have telephone interview who are interested in our program in
advance. then we will make the categories of the adoptees in abroad. and at last
we are going to make the interview list. it is long and complicated porcedure.
that's why our schedule is not fixed yet.

we hope to meet the overseas korean adoptees 21st through 30th of december
this year. as i told you the schedule is not fixed yet.

we think we have to get in touch with the leaders of korean adoptees community
several times by telephone and by e-mail.

we do not think we can solve the adoption problem only through our porgram.
but we want to make a chance for koreans to start discussing the adoption issue
in earnest.

two of our teams will be charged with this issue. one is for domestic adoption
and another for overseas. we are contacting with 'goal', 'inkas', 'koroot' and
other agencies related to adoption.

the name of our program is 'new+ amni omni'. 'amni omni' is an korean adverb
which means 'in every nook and corner'. it is a weekly tv magazine which deals
with feature news and current affairs. and mbc(munhwa broadcasting corporation)
is the second-biggest public tv station in korea. our main tv viewers are in
their twenties through forties, and many of them are opinion leaders in korea.

we ask you to help us. if we make an successful program this time, it would be
a new turning point of adoption issue.

thank you.
